DESCRIPTION:A Month Honouring the Buddha’s Life\nIt is a holy month when we celebrate the birth\, enlightenment and death (parinirvana) of the Buddha Shakyamuni1. \nThe merit of any good deeds that you perform during this month are thought to be multiplied many times over — by as many as one hundred million times2. \nSo Saka Dawa is an excellent time to dedicate yourself to taking spiritually positive actions. \nPrecepts 6.30 a.m.\nfollowed by mani recitations &/or sutra reading/writing until 8.30 a.m.\nshared precepts friendly lunch 11.15 a.m.\nGuru Shakyamuni Buddha Puja & extensive light & food offerings 1 p.m.\nPlease note as part of Saka Dawa celebrations\, we collect non perishable food offerings to go to the ‘In Town Lunch Centre’. Please bring food stuffs to the centre from now until then\, & place them in the box in the library area.
